Do I need to file a tax return if I am not getting a refund or have to pay anything either? | Tax Return Refund Calculator
Question by Savily: Do I will need to file a tax return if I am not acquiring a refund or have to spend nearly anything either?
I was and am presently on unemployment for the whole year of 2009. I did an believed tax calculator on line and it exhibits that I am not entitled to a refund nor do I have to pay anything. So, I was wondering if I have to file a tax return then?
I produced 8915. No taxes had been withheld from my checks, still I owe/acquire nothing at all. I have to spend to file for absolutely nothing?

The rule is based on how much income you had, not how much you’re getting back.
Even if you know you aren’t getting a refund or owe anything, you have to prove it to the IRS.
Depends on how much you made, not if you’ll get anything back. The IRS is one picky group, so I’d say file it. You could probably e-file, then you’ll have done it and the IRS can’t get mad at you for not proving that you don’t owe them anything, and they don’t owe you any thing.
Unemployment compensation is considered income. You do have to report it to the IRS. Just in case you still owe them something.
Always better to file a tax return regardless if you are due a refund or not. Per IRS records everyone owes until you file your own tax returns
Good luck! Happy Filing!
