Question by Robilynn: if my 2009 tax returns all went to federal student loan financial debt, can I get all of my returns for 2010?
My whole tax refund went to a federal pupil loan financial debt. if there a way to file my 2010 returns showing that, that is where my 2009 refund went and get credit score for that or possibly not have my returns garnished this year?

Your tax refunds will be offset every year until the student loan debt is paid in full. If your 2010 refund covers the debt with something left over, then you’ll get the left over. If not, then you won’t get any of it.
You should still file though to make sure that you keep chipping away at the debt.
If you get the student loan out of default status, they will stop taking your tax refunds even if the loan isn’t paid in full, you just have to get it current again.
it depends on how much your student loans were, if the 2009 offset did not satisfy the whole loan default, the 2010 will probably be offset as well, and subsequent years until the loan is paid
