I received this book in very good condition. I have not had the chance to use it but know it will help during the tax balance sheet.

I feel the title is incorrect. As information on the form of income for tax year 2006, the title should be your income tax in 2006 also the table of contents should be the main subject in bold to distinguish the sub-topics . It would make it much easier to find what one seeks. Both items were in error for many years.

Lasser's Tax Guide is a must-have for me! I used it for years even if I had my taxes done by a preparer until recently. This is a resource that never leaves you in the dark by fuzzy language or situations that you can not find. I find it useful now that I am using tax software to prepare myself to return. When you're at your wits' end to understand what this means, Lasser explains in plain language. It is well worth the money.

This guide has a lot of bulk, but not much substance. Of course, there is a good amount of information that is useful surface to 99% of "simple" situations, but if you start your own business, investing in rental housing, etc., this book will do nothing for you . You can get lots of useful information for free from the publication Web site of the IRS, and covers the subject matter in greater depth and detail. Lasser guide does add a bit of sympathy with recent decisions of tax disputes and how that might affect the interpretation of certain codes of the IRS, but there is not that much really useful in-depth information. I thought the book would be more complete Lasser. It is certainly thick enough, but once you look inside its clear that they have extended a modest amount of material very thin slices. Just my opinion of course, but my real questions of real estate investment, it is absolutely useless for me and I had to go elsewhere. John T. Reed 's Aggressive Tax Guide is a resource I can recommend for this type of info. Rather than buying this book, I start with IRS Publication 17 "Your Income Tax" and go from there.
